Waking up with the waves on Monday, I’m Surf Junkie Jeff with your Memorial Day Manhattan Beach Patch surf report. Well, we’re seeing plenty of playful size surf out there today, but you can be sure there will be many more people in the lineup due to the holiday.
The conditions are starting off pretty clean and glassy, with a mixture of energy out there. We have mainly easing northwest windswell and some small south southwest energy underneath it.
That recipe is offering some fast sectiony lines, with some nice wedgie shoulders to snag. Most spots in Manhattan Beach are running about waist to shoulder high, with the focal points pulling a few larger sets.
Taking a look at the tides, at 9:21 this morning it climbs to a 3.5 high and then drops to a 2.0 low at 1:58 this afternoon, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
If you’re planning on paddling, throw on at least a 3/2 fullsuit with the water temperature hanging between 59 and 61 degrees. Have fun out there!
