Manhattan Beach, CA – Manhattan Beach Mayor Nick Tell, speaking for the City Council, has announced the City has retained the law firm of Richards, Watson and Gershon to provide City Attorney services to the City of Manhattan Beach. Every city represented by Richards Watson Gershon has full access to more than 65 attorneys who specialize in all areas of public law and public finance.
Roxanne M. Diaz will serve as City Attorney. Ms. Diaz is a shareholder in the Public Law Department at Richards, Watson Gershon and currently serves as the Chair of the firm’s Public Law Department. She has more than fifteen years of experience in local government law. Ms. Diaz holds a J.D. from the prestigious University of California, Hastings College of Law, and a B.A. from California State University Fullerton.
Ms. Diaz is currently the City Attorney for the City of Hidden Hills and the Chief Assistant City Attorney for the City of Beverly Hills. She also is the Vice President of the City Attorneys Association of Los Angeles County, a professional organization of city attorneys. In 2012, she will be elevated to President of that organization.
The firm has designated Larry Wiener as Senior Counsel for Manhattan Beach. Mr. Wiener currently serves as City Attorney for the City of Beverly Hills. During his more than twelve years of service to Beverly Hills, he is widely respected for his knowledge of municipal law, his commitment to transparency and his calm, practical approach to solving problems. In addition, Mr. Wiener is the Authority Counsel to the Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport and General Counsel to the Las Virgenes-Malibu Council of Governments. He also has served as City Attorney for the Cities of Westlake Village and Hidden Hills. Mr. Wiener holds an undergraduate degree from Princeton University and a law degree from UCLA.
